Directions to La Sierra
From Santa Fe: About an hour and forty five minutes.
285 N to Pojoaque
Right at Nambe exit 503 E
Left at sign “Chimayo Museum” to Chimayo.
In Chimayo (stop sign) turn Right 76 to Truchas (“High Road to Taos”)
In Truchas 76 makes a sharp Left, stay on 76 to stop sign.
Turn Right to Penasco.
At the end of Penasco, the road forks, take Left Fork, go till stop sign at rock wall, turn Right to las Vegas and Sipapu Ski area.
The road is all gentle up hill, past Sipapu etc….
When you get to the top of the pass, the road starts going downhill steeply from that point it’s 1.4 or 1.5 miles to your turn off.
As soon as you see the “Pass with Care” sign, start braking, turn right on dirt road across the cattle guard, (On the left hand side of the highway you will see “Pecos National Forest”)
Stay on that dirt road 1.6 miles
Turn right right before the “No Dumping” sign
Go up till acequia bridge (made out of pipes), take RIGHT fork
Go past 2 story house with red roof all the way to green LOCKED gate. (about 300 yards)
If you have a macho 4x4 that can navigate my driveway, turn LEFT across the creek and RIGHT at my (unlocked)green gate.
Alternate route, about two hours and fifteen minutes.
I 25 to las Vegas
2nd exit University Ave. Left off of exit ramp
One signal, then Right at 2nd stop sign on 7th street
7th street all the way thru Mora (30 Miles) to Holman (6 Miles)
At Holman turn Left on dirt road.
The house on the corner where you have to turn has an “ACUPUNCTURE” sign on it… if you see the sign you’ve gone a few yards too far.
If you go past the Post office, you’ve gone 4 houses too far.
Stay on the dirt road 3 miles
Turn Left immediately after the “no dumping” sign (it will not be facing you)
Go up till the acequia bridge (made out of pipes), take Right fork
Go past 2 story house with red roof to green locked gate.
